In the midst of America's "killer clown" craze, Violent J, one half of the self-proclaimed "World’s Most Hated Band," has been under added scrutiny. He's decided to speak out, sharing his thoughts on the current clown climate with Time. The clowns in Violent J's sights, however, are not the knife-wielding, greasepaint-covered clowns that have been wreaking havoc on college campuses nationwide.

He instead uses his platform to write about a "whole army of scary, terrifying and dangerous clowns out there in this country trying to suppress the rights of thousands of people to exercise the most basic part of the Declaration of Independence.'"

The controversial rapper goes on to declare that "keystone-cop clowns," "racist clowns" and "clowns in the NSA" are more worthy of our attention.

Violent J shares some valuable insight on fear mongering. He cites the government's response to Insane Clown Posse's fans, known as Juggalos, as an example of unsubstantiated national fear.

He derides the fact that his fans are categorized as a "hybrid gang" by the FBI, explaining that "people simply walking their dogs while wearing an ICP shirt have been stopped, searched and added to the local gang member database—when no crime has been committed."
