The Decemberists are gearing up to release a new album and they found a gorgeous way to announce the news.
The band launched an Instagram account today and their first post features a mural with the following phrase written on it: “What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World.” The mural is located in Brooklyn, NY at Bedford Ave & North 7th Street.
Frontman Colin Meloy previewed the album by performing on the street in front of the mural. A few lucky fans were able to catch him in action and thanks to their iPhone footage, we can see a glimpse of the performance below.
The new album, What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World is a follow-up to We All Raise Our Voices To The Air, a collection of live songs released in 2012, and The King is Dead, which was released in 2011.
