A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie first caught our attention with his excellent sleeper hit "My Shit" back in July, and he has continued to release solid tracks ever since. In October, the Bronx rapper shared his TBA EP, which certainly lived up to the hype generated by his breakout single. He's shaping up to be one of the most exciting new voices coming out of New York.

The young MC recently spit a freestyle over Mobb Deep's classic track "Quiet Storm." During his freestyle, he experiments with several different flows and switches seamlessly between singing and rapping. The freestyle takes on a darker tone than his other work, allowing him to flex his versatility. During the reflective track, he raps about the challenges he's facing in his life and navigates his complicated relationships.

"What's the difference between love and hate?" he asks on the song's autotune-tinged refrain.

A Boogie is gaining momentum fast, and he's certainly an artist worth getting to know. We recently met up with the rising star in his hometown to discuss his musical beginnings, his ambitions, and what the future has in store for him.

Check out our video with A Boogie below, and listen to his "Quiet Storm" freestyle above.
