As the true crime television genre continues to pick up traction, ABC plans to debut Unsolved, a new series centered around the controversial murders of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. The show will chronicle the experiences of Greg Kading, the LAPD detective who led multiple task-force investigations of the homicides. The show's script will draw upon Kading's book, Murder Rap: The Untold Story of Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations for information.

According to Deadline, the show will be directed and executive produced by Anthony Hemingway, who is known for his work on The People Vs. O.J. Simpson. Kyle Long from Suits is set to write the pilot script with Kading as a consultant.

Unsolved is not the only upcoming big-screen investigation into the murders. The long-delayed Tupac biopic, All Eyez on Me, may finally see the light of day in the near future. The film, first announced in 2011, has undergone many production difficulties over the years, and was most recently held up by music licensing disputes.

Keep an eye out for both Unsolved and All Eyez On Me in the coming months.
