Chaz Bundick, the artist behind Toro Y Moi, has announced an upcoming collaborative album with jazz-rock duo The Mattson 2. The duo, comprised of identical twins Jared, a guitarist, and Jonathan, a drummer, has worked with Bundick in the past, appearing on his Live From Trona album earlier this year.
Chaz Bundick Meets the Mattson 2 is by no means Bundick's only side project; he released a dance music album in 2014 under the alias Les Sins, and recently experimented with ambient music with his September release of the track "New Globe" under the moniker PLUM. Evidently, Bundick loves to take on new musical challenges.
Along with the announcement of Bundick's collaborative project comes the lead single, an ethereal track called "Star Stuff." The track features complex percussion, haunting vocals, and buzzing guitars.
Chaz Bundick Meets The Mattson 2 will be released through Bundick’s Company Records, and is currently available for preorder.
