The fallout from Kanye West's recent announcement that he would have voted for Donald Trump in the 2016 Presidential election has been pretty severe, especially on Twitter, and has also been pretty confusing.

"I didn't vote but if I did, I would have voted for Trump" is what 'Ye told a crowd in San Jose, California, on Thursday night. However, former Spin editor Camille Dodero pointed out shortly after the controversial announcement that Yeezy had contributed $2700 directly to the Clinton campaign in 2015 and also $15000 to the Democratic National Commitee in 2014.

Clinton also met with Kanye and Kim Kardashian last year, after which she joked about his announcement that he may run for the Presidency in 2020, "I've told Kanye that I think he might want to wait cause I’ll be running for reelection. I might want to give him some additional experience so he’s got, on all the other things he’s done on his resume, he’s got some kind of envoy role or something he could point to... I would not rule out anybody for vice president."

Kanye's 40-minute long speech at Thursday's show resulted in some unrest in the crowd, despite 'Ye telling the crowd, "Whether you voted for Hillary or Trump, this is a safe space for both of you." Projectiles were allegedly thrown the rapper, including a Yeezy shoe, which he signed then returned to the owner.
