SZA: "I actually quit."

The Top Dawg Entertainment artist may have announced that she's done with music.

This summer, Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith said that among others, a new project from SZA will be arriving soon. Although that may well be the case, it might not mean that SZA's career is on an upward trajectory. In fact, her time in the spotlight might done altogether.

Earlier today, the 25-year-old artist wrote a since-deleted tweet that addresses TDE co-president Terrence "Punch" Henderson and casts major doubt on her future not just with Top Dawg Entertainment, but with music more broadly: "I actually quit . @iamstillpunch can release my album if he ever feels like it . Y'all be blessed ."

The way it looks now, there are three main possibilities regarding what's actually going on: SZA is truly done with music altogether, she no longer wants to be part of TDE and wishes instead to release music through a different channel, or she's joking and addressing the frustration around constantly being asked about her next project. The tweet was deleted, so perhaps she's backpedalling on whatever message she was trying to send, or the meaning of her words was misunderstood.
