Lupe Fiasco has two albums on the way, DROGAS Light and DROGAS, and the good news is that they're both finished. The bad news is that they're not ready for release due to "red tape," according to Fiasco.
In a stringoftweets this afternoon, Fiasco wrote, "It's a strong chance you wont get any new Lupe albums this year Sorry y'all. I tried 2 make it happen but best laid plans make a mess made. Drogas Light & Drogas are fully recorded & sitting but clearances and mixing issues for Drogas are pushing us beyond realistic deadlines now. So I'll take these L's like a champ and keep it moving. Again so sorry to let you folks down." In response to a fan who seemed to believe the albums aren't finished, Fiasco added, "Gracias...just to clarify tho the albums have been done for months. It's the red tape & details now. The shit I hate..."
This follows his announcement made late last year that 2016 would see the release of three Lupe Fiasco albums. Whatever records ends up coming out next will be the follow-up to 2015's Tetsuo & Youth.
