It's been a year since The Weeknd put out his massive Beauty Behind The Madness, but things haven't really slowed down for the singer. He's been busy collaborating with other artists, donating money to the University of Toronto, and setting Guinness World Records. Whew.
But it looks like change is coming for The Weeknd, at least according to his latest Instagram photo. In a post last night, the singer wished his best friend La Mar Taylor a happy birthday, but also added something cryptic about his own future plans.
"This my last post before the new era. happy birthday to the legend @lamarctaylor, wouldn't be here without the vision. let's shut Toronto down tonight. XO (also Happy belated to the hardest working man I know, Dropxlife)," he wrote.
So what is "the new era" he's referring to? Could it be a new direction in The Weeknd's sound? Could it be a stylistic change for the singer? Who knows, but it'll definitely be interesting to see just what his next steps are.
