After several months of silence, Lido has released "Murder," the second single from his hotly anticipated album Everything. The first single, "Crazy," was released in April along with its impressive self-directed music video.
The Norwegian producer describes "Murder" as an integral part of Everything's narrative, which chronicles a breakup and its aftermath.
"'Murder' is the beginning of the story and a good example of how the storytelling of the album works," Lido says in an interview with Complex. "It's the breakup, so there's a lot of tension and release in the song. The vocal is chopped to sound nervous and stuttering before the words finally come out in the second verse, followed by an emotional chaos of a 'drop' when the breakup has happened and then the sad anti-climax of silence portrayed by a 80-piece orchestra we recorded in Norway."
The track's animated visual is crafted by Les Vandales, and features graphics from Lido's recent tour flyers.
