Despite the fact that NAO’s debut album For All We Know is only a few days old, it’s already earned the singer/songwriter a number of positive reviews. Based on the strength of her previously released singles alone—“Bad Blood,” “Fool to Love,” “Girlfriend,” and the A.K. Paul-assisted “Trophy”—the album’s success comes as no surprise, and she isn’t about to let that momentum go to waste.
Today, NAO shares a new set of visuals for “Girlfriend,” a strong highlight from From All We Know. The video centers on the dynamic between a couple, interspersed with shots of strangers who look deeply into the camera. While simple, the images soundtracked by “Girlfriend” evoke senses of longing, intimacy, and loneliness.
