If TDE’s Anthony Tiffith was referring to Isaiah Rashad’s album when he cryptically tweeted “09.02.16,” it will considerably lessen the sting of this latest Frank Ocean slight.
Rashad’s upcoming release is one of 2016’s most anticipated, and “Free Lunch” contains all the reasons why: a vibe-laden beat, thoughtful raps not without a sense of humor (“real n****s in my condom”), and a unique delivery that leaves no doubt that this is an Isaiah Rashad joint.
It’s a return to form in the best of ways for the Tennessee rapper. “Free Lunch” picks up where “Smile” and Cilvia Demo left off, and even though he’s been killing guest features recently, this is proof Rashad can do it on his own.
