As Portland/Los Angeles-based singer/producer Dan Vidmar, better known as Shy Girls, prepares for the release of a currently untitled EP, he shares a new song in anticipation of it.
Premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show, “I Am Only A Man” is a very promising taste of what’s to come—sweltering vocals from Vidmar paired with delicate piano keys and shattering percussions that comes crashing in waves. It sees Shy Girls wearing his heart on his sleeve, warning listeners of the walls built in relationships that have the ability to tear lovers apart.
The upcoming untitled EP follows 2015’s self-released 4WZ mixtape, which features the likes of Tei Shi, Rome Fortune, and Antwon, among others, and is set to be released later this year.
