Kodak Black was selected as a member of XXL’s 2016 Freshman Class, and to mark the occasion, the 19-year-old Florida rapper sat down for a brief interview where he talks about his come-up, his struggles, and his determination to do something productive with his life. One thing he said, however, is sure to spark a little controversy.
“I’m better than 2Pac and Biggie,” he casually claims at the start of the clip. “I say that, so now you know where my head at.”
Kodak is coming off the release of his strong Lil B.I.G. Pac mixtape, and he’s also included in our list of Best New Artists of 2016. He’s just getting started, but if his confidence is any indication, he’s aiming for big things.
