18-year-old El Paso singer Khalid is still riding a wave off the success of his last track, the excellent “Location.” When we talked to him about that song, he explained that it was hard for him to balance music and high school, but now he’s graduated and he just released the follow-up track “Let’s Go.”
This one is just as catchy, but it’s a more upbeat, fully embracing a more pop-friendly style with production by Hiko Momoji & OZ. Khalid’s got a uniquely soulful voice that could work with a lot of different sounds, and even though he’s just getting started, he’s already showing some serious versatility.
