The New Wave is a feature we’ll be presenting every Tuesday. It will highlight one song we’re currently obsessed with, by a new or rising artist.

We say:

Maryland rapper Innanet James is on a roll, and “Summer” is his best yet. Innanet raps like a rubber ball bouncing around a tiny space, with the perfect amount of unpredictability to keep every line engaging. He’s only got a few tracks out, but he’s already shown his versatility, and with a delivery this nimble the possibilities are endless.

He says:

Sara inspired this but I did it for Moco. This summer will be crazy. A Portrait for Free on the way. That’s the name of the EP.
