Last week, Chance the Rapper performed at a launch party for SoundCloud GO!, the streaming service’s new label-friendly platform. His set included the third public performance of “Ultralight Beam,” some old favorites like “Heaven Only Knows” and “Wonderful Everyday,” and an interesting moment between songs: Chance said five words that, if true, would be huge news—“third mixtape coming next month.”

Two things are worth noting—first, Chance has made remarks about his next project’s release date before, most notably when he claimed the third mixtape would be “sliding down the chimney” during a December performance on Saturday Night Live.

Those claims turned out to be inaccurate—but just as important are the release dates for his two previous solo efforts: Acid Rap came out April 30, 2013, and 10 Day dropped on April 3, 2012. Chance made the “third mixtape” remarks on March 31. Technically speaking, that would make April—that same month we’re in right now—“next month.” So if tradition is any indication, we could be hearing new music from Chance soon enough.
