Too often, a city’s musical identity is reduced to its most popular genre. For 2016 Atlanta, that’s trap music. But Curtis Fields and Phil Jones are proving to be an exception to that rule as The Pheels—their debut track “RnS” is a silky R&B cut tinged with elements of psychedelia, the kind of song that envelopes you in its haze and won’t let go. It’s part of their upcoming likeWise EP, due out in the coming months.

But this isn’t their first foray into music—Jones has already made a name for himself as HAUNTED. He has another EP (Sunless) coming out under that name, but it sounds like he’ll have his hands full with The Pheels soon enough—”RnS” is a slow burner of the highest quality, with the vocals to match.
