A couple of nights ago, Kehlani Instagrammed a picture of herself in a hospital bed after an apparent suicide attempt. The caption started, “today I wanted to leave this earth,” and went on to address rumors surrounding her relationships with PartyNextDoor and NBA player Kyrie Irving: “No one was cheated on and I’m not a bad person. Everyone is hurt and everyone is in a place of misunderstanding.”

After Kehlani posted the picture, she deleted her entire Instagram before resurfacing the next day to say that she’s recovering and to thank everyone for the love and support. One person who isn’t showing support is the always outspoken Chris Brown. Brown has taken to Twitter to share his insensitive take on the situation: “There is no attempting suicide. Stop flexing for the gram. Doing shit for sympathy so them comments under your pics don’t look so bad.”

According to the American Foundation For Suicide Prevention, an average of 42,773 Americans die by suicide each year, and for every suicide, 25 more people attempt.
