During a recent Periscope session, Jay Electronica seized the spotlight and shared a few interesting thoughts, calling Kendrick Lamar his “son” and his “baby,” and saying that 50 Cent is “on some sucker shit.”
At about 6 minutes into the video above, Jay said of Kendrick, “Look, I like the one Kendrick song with Gunplay, ‘Cartoons and Cereal,’ but other than that we don’t know what nigga talking about,” then added at about 12:40, “Kendrick is my son, Kendrick is my baby, Kendrick wishes he could be me.”
While Jay Electronica has yet to release a proper studio album, Kendrick already has three under his belt, the latest of which, 2015’s To Pimp A Butterfly, garnered universal acclaim and led to the rapper receiving 11 Grammy nominations, just one short of the record set by Michael Jackson in 1984.
Jay also had some things to say about 50 Cent, like that he used to be a good rapper but may not be anymore: At about 12:00, Jay says, “50 Cent at once, he was a good rapper. Right now he got the potential to be a rapper but he’s on some sucker shit… and we will slap 50 Cent’s eyeballs loose out his scalp.”
