Los Angeles duo Coast Modern made a huge splash with their debut single “Hollow Life.” It’s got around 400,000 streams on SoundCloud and almost a million on Spotify, and they’re keeping that momentum going with new single “Animals.”
“Most of the lyrics and production came to us in a big wallop in one afternoon,” says the duo in an email. “’Animals’ poses questions I think we all ask ourselves about what we’re doing with our lives, and explores the struggle between animal desires and actualization of a higher self. There’s freedom in the fact that no one knows exactly what we’re all doing here, so we can make up the rules as we go along.”
The song is full-bodied and warm, with a lighthearted bounce and a soaring melody perfect for this transition out of the winter months. Check it out below, and keep an ear out for Coast Modern.
