Zane Lowe gifted us with another surprise premiere today, courtesy of California songstress BANKS. Lowe spoke with the singer on his Beats 1 show today, where she said this latest single “came out like a growl inside me.”
We’d have to agree—”Better” is definitely one of her more emotive cuts, a raw, tortured performance that comes complete with a similarly styled video. The visuals intercut an all-gold BANKS with some artfully shadowed shots of birthday suits, dramatic camera swoops paired perfectly with the heart-wrenching chorus: “I can love you better than she can.” We’ve missed you, BANKS.
