On paper, the title of Michl’s debut track doesn’t sound like the best game plan. The song itself, however, is enough to justify even the most brooding ruminations. “Kill Our Way to Heaven” has a persistent, silky pulse that’s topped off by Michl’s infectious, quavering lilt.

The California native wants to make music “that can be challenging but embraced at the same time,” and with a gritty style and sound that recalls Boots, he’s well on his way. Stream “Kill Our Way To Heaven” below.
