Ta’East’s “WithTheShit” starts off sounding like a horror movie, and that’s because producer Cairo Mayeson samples strings from the film Under the Skin. But that creeping beat leaves plenty of space for Ta’East, and he gets straight up militant with his delivery. With a powerful sense of control and a commanding energy, Ta’East balances technical skill with charisma, and he makes himself very hard to ignore.

The Los Angeles-based, San Diego-bred, Kentucky-born rapper has already worked with Travis Scott, Hit-Boy, and BJ The Chicago kid, and Virgil Abloh originally leaked “WithTheShit” on KNOW-WAVE radio. The song was also put in rotation by Benji B at BBC Radio 1, and today we’ve got the official stream from the upcoming EP, Okay, I’m Ready. It’s a fitting title—there’s no doubt you’ll be hearing the name Ta’East a lot more frequently in the near future.
