If you’ve heard any of Kendrick Lamar’s albums (and if you haven’t, shame on you), you’ll know he has impeccable vocal delivery. Kendrick can throw his voice into any number of octaves, and he put it to good use this week.
Jay Rock was in the midst of a Power106 interview to promote his new album. When they opened up the phone lines, one of the first callers was a woman swooning over being able to talk to the Jay Rock. The thirst seemed real enough—”she” asks for the “tall, dark, and handsome” rapper’s number—before Kendrick pulls back the curtain and Jay Rock’s hopes are crushed. If video of this call exists, we need it now.
