Right after meeting Judge Judy and somehow retroactively being an audience member for Ricki Lake, getting to celebrate on stage during a concert is my third biggest birthday wish in life. For this lucky dude, my wish became his reality when Dave Grohl invited him up in honor of his 50th.
During Foo Fighters’ show in Detroit earlier this week, Grohl spotted Griffin’s sign in the crowd which said simply, “It’s my 50th. Let’s have a beer.” And because Dave Grohl is the coolest fucking rock star on Earth, he agreed.
“I know it’s your 50th birthday. We’ve got a lot of songs we’ve got to play tonight. I’m gonna share this beer with you, and then I’ve gotta do my job,” he told Griffin. Then the two proceeded to chug a beer. God, Dave Grohl is just the best.
