Over the past few years, Willis Earl Beal has been vocal about his difficulties with his former record label, XL, citing creative differences as the source of conflict. Now, Beal is signed to a new label, Tender Loving Empire, and making new music. On August 28, Beal will release NOCTURNES, an album that he shared in limited quantity back in January, but will now be getting a wide release.
Included on the project are two previously released singles, “Flying So Low” and “Midnight,” and today he shares the third, “Survive.” The track features minimal instrumentation (which isn’t unusual for Beal), properly allowing his powerful vocals to deliver his message.
