Pandora Paid Linda Perry Only $300 For 30 Million Song Plays

Earlier this week, Beggars Group shared an open letter voicing their concerns about how Apple Music plans to pay independent artists. Today brings more musicians speaking out against streaming platforms. Speaking with Huffington Post, Linda Perry claims that Pandora paid her just $300 for 30 million song plays. Perry is the writer behind Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful,” which has been streamed millions of times on the site since it first was released.

“We’re not selling albums. You know why? Because you got places like Pandora that are ripping people off left and right,” Perry told HuffPo. “Pandora played ‘Beautiful’ something like 30 million times, I got paid $300.”
