It’s pretty difficult to go wrong when you have Lauryn Hill and Nina Simone on the same track (even if, unfortunately, they didn’t get to record in the same room…can you even imagine?).
Here, we have a clip of Hill’s second contribution to Nina Revisited: A Tribute to Nina Simone—where her first song on the album is a soulful cover of Simone’s Feeling Good, “I’ve Got Life” is a hip-hop rework of “Ain’t Got No, I’ve Got No Life.” Hill hasn’t been showing off her (incredible) bars in a minute, so it’s good to know she hasn’t abandoned the beats and rhymes for good.
