Danny Winter is a 23-year-old rapper/producer from San Francisco, but “Too Cold” is almost exactly the opposite of what we normally associate with Bay Area hip-hop. With dark, minimal Yeezus vibes and a sharp intensity throughout, this is more Chicago winter than a San Fran summer, thanks to a little help from Chi-Town’s Ibn Inglor. As others fight for that Song of the Summer spot, “Too Cold” is a much-needed break from lighthearted pop sounds and bouncy hook-driven rap.
“Too Cold” will appear on Danny Winter’s upcoming project, due this fall.
