Lykke Li has always kept a distance between her personal and public life, but over the past year or so, she has embraced Instagram as a way to connect with fans. She shares artfully taken pictures from photo shoots and nights out, and every now and then we get a behind-the-scenes look as she writes, rehearses, and performs.

The last time Lykke released any music was when she covered Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” and so far she’s been sticking to an album every three years—Youth Novels in 2008, Wounded Rhymes in 2011, and I Never Learn in 2014. When she was 21, she signed a three-album deal with Atlantic Records, so unless she extended that, the pressure’s off, for now.

There may not be a new album on the horizon, but the Swedish singer-songwriter is still creating. In the past couple of days she’s been sharing new lyrics and asking her Instagram followers what they think. She followed that up with a few videos that give a glimpse into what she’s working on.
