Watch the Beautifully Simple Video For Brooklyn-Based Singer CE's "Mudra"

“Troublin’ mind, I’m blue / But I won’t be blue always…”

CE is an independent singer/producer/rapper from San Francisco and based in Brooklyn. He’s one half of the hip-hop duo Quincy Vidal. In 2012, he released his first solo album, Siddha, and it was a process that helped him deal with his father’s sudden death. “Mudra” is the last song from the album. It features vocals from CE’s father, self-recorded when CE was just a child.

After years of ideas and attempts, Crooked Letter Films funded and made the video for “Mudra.” It’s a beautiful, powerful song, and the video highlights strength in vulnerability. It’s simple, but that makes it feel even more honest. Watch the Gabriel Gomez-directed video above.
