Kid Rock, who cashed in big time on the rap-rock phase with hits like “Bahwitdaba,” turns against the genre that helped make him filthy rich. In an interview with The Guardian, he says that he’s not just wealthy—he’s loaded. He also says that rap-rock turned into bullshit, and that the genre “turned out to be pretty gay.”
It’s 2015, and Kid Rock has finally decided that rap-rock is lame. Maybe by 2020 he’ll realize that using the word gay as an insult is also something better left in the past.
“Rap-rock was what people wanted at the time, and they still love those songs at shows. But it turned into a lot of bullshit and it turned out to be pretty gay… If someone says you can’t say ‘gay’ like that you tell them to go fuck themselves. You’re not going to get anything politically correct out of me.”
