We can’t wait for Grimes’ next album, but to be honest, we have no fucking idea what to expect. First there was the Rihanna reject, “Go,” then she admitted that her new direction sucked and that she was starting over. Most recently, she was making glam rock. Now, Grimes is saying that she’s bored by pop.
With her album Visions, Grimes’ popularity skyrocketed, but she’s never been the type of artist who seeks to please—remember what she did during a Boiler Room party, or when she trolled that dog?
But Grimes isn’t aimlessly trolling, either. There’s a method to her madness, and she’s figured out that 15 to 30% hate is the perfect level of disapproval. She’s also decided that the most radical thing she could do is a Nickelback cover album. We’re sure she’s just joking though… right?
