Since the 2012 release of their full-length album, Django Django has been inundated with success. It was so well-received, in fact, that their subsequent touring schedule has prevented them from spending any time in the studio. But now the Scottish four-piece is on “lockdown.” And we’re starting to hear the results.
We get the first taste of new material today in the form of “First Light.” It’s a little more electronic than the music on that first album, but the uptempo drums and cascading harmonies have remained. It’s unclear how “First Light” will fit into forthcoming releases (this is an “early glimpse” of an upcoming album), but it’s great to see Django Django making music again. They happen to be quite good at it.
