Aphex Twin has a new EP coming out this week. It’s called “Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments Pt2.” Surprised? Maybe you shouldn’t be.
True, this is the same evil genius that made us wait ten years between albums before dropping Syro last year. But Richard James has never cared much for convention—he’s more of an all-or-nothing type.
In a September interview with Rolling Stone, James spoke about releasing music. “I’m in that mode now, so hopefully I’ll stay in it for a while,” he said. “I’ve got a few more things planned…Some more dancey things I did about 10 years ago. Experimental things, noise things, weird things. Shitloads of stuff. They’re all pretty much ready to go.”
He also shared an alternate version of a track that will appear on tomorrow’s release. That, plus the track list for “Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments Pt2” is below.
