We were introduced to Kacy Hill back in September, when she released her debut song “Experience.” The song was great, and it came with a striking video that served as a powerful first impression. The 20-year-old from Phoenix told us that while she had some classical training growing up, music was never really something she was considering as a career.
“‘Experience’ was one of the first songs that I wrote, so it was only appropriate to release it first,” she said. “Writing it was such a freeing experience; I can definitely say it was the first time I felt a real connection with what I was doing in my life. The whole process was so organic and I never want to lose that energy.”
Before music, Kacy was a model and was a back-up dancer on Kanye West’s Yeezus tour. The news of her signing with Kanye’s G.O.O.D. comes from a Def Jam tweet, and we’ve confirmed with her publicist.
