The discussion around the legalization of marijuana has been a hot topic in the U.S. for the past years, but Bob Marley was singing and speaking out about it decades ago. The reggae legend and Rastafarian died in 1981, but his family has found a way to allow for his name to be part of the pro-marijuana movement.

Coming in 2015 is Marley Natural, “a premium cannabis brand rooted in the life and legacy.” The brand will introduce a line of products that includes cannabis-infused lotions and balms, smoking and vaporizing accessories, and cannabis strains. The cannabis will be sold as buds, oils, and concentrates.

Brendan Kennedy, the CEO of Privateer Holdings owner of Marley Natural, told NBC: “This is what the end of prohibition looks like. Bob Marley started to push for legalization more than 50 years ago. We’re going to help him finish it.”

“It just seems natural that Daddy should be part of this conversation,” Bob Marley’s daughter Cedella added.

On the official Marley Natural website, the brand’s mission statement reads: “Marley Natural is the world’s first global cannabis brand. Our mission is to champion Bob’s voice and his insight to help people realize the positive potential of cannabis for the mind, body, and spirit. Along the way, we want to help undo the suffering and injustice of cannabis prohibition around the world.”
