Here's Why People Didn't Watch the AMAs

Watching the American Music Awards gave us some interesting moments, from the A$AP Rocky and Sam Smith performance to Waka Flocka Flame’s cough drops ad, but none of that could save its numbers. The AMAs, which were hosted by Pitbull, followed a four-year high in ratings last year by falling 15 percent for what has been been deemed its second lowest result ever among its key demographics, according to Deadline.

That’s just the key demo. Overall, the AMAs fell 10 percent from last year’s ratings. Still, these were ABC’s best ratings since its airing of the Oscars in March, according to Variety.
