Just when you started to forget how amazing last March’s Freddie Gibbs and Madlib album Piñata was, the two come back with a remix that brings the whole album back into rotation.
“Knicks” gets a couple extra verse from three more native New Yorkers, Action Bronson, Joey Bada$$, and Ransom. The beat seems tailor-made for its new guests, bridging the connection between Queens and Brooklyn and leaving us with a classic NYC sound.
An entire “Knicks” remix EP is out next, via Madlib’s label. Look for it November 18. For now, listen to the new verses from Action, Joey, and Ransom.
