For the first time in five years, The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas is set to release a non-Stokes album with the help of his new band The Voidz. Following up his 2009 project Phrazes for the Young, Casablancas prepares us for his new album Tyranny as he shares a sprawling new song titled “Human Sadness.”
The track is a compelling ride, a gushing 11-minute epic chock-full of static, random noise, scratchy guitar, and Casablancas’ unmistakable drawl. Look for Tyranny being released September 23 by Casablancas’ own Cult Records imprint, and get a preview of the USB/lighter version of the album below.
