Memphis emcee Jon Waltz keeps the steady stream of music flowing with “Home,” a smooth, introspective cut hinting at what can be expected from his forthcoming EP, Alyss.

Produced by PressPlay, “Home” is an exploration of the concept of home and everything it represents. Jon floats over the brooding instrumental with lines like, “It only look nice from a distant view,” and, “I was fucking you, but she’s a different you,” proving that he’s speaking on something much bigger than the physical location in which he resides when he refers to “home.” Sometimes it takes leaving something behind to understand its value—Jon articulates this poignantly, and we can all relate on some level.

This one won’t appear on Alyss, but as revealed through Hypetrak, collaborations with Michael Christmas and Allan Kingdom will. Listen to “Home” below, and stay tuned for more. The project is set to arrive in September.
