At the tail end of last year, Kanye West was sued by a relatively unknown ’70s soul group called Ponderosa Twins Plus One for sampling their original track, “Bound” (which, of course, spurred many jokes about how Kanye couldn’t make it to Christmas). But even now, images of ‘Ye and Kim K on that motorcycle—or better yet, James Franco and Seth Rogen—come to mind when that song plays.
In an effort to revive the song’s original beauty, Laura Welsh has covered “Bound,” and as a result, crafted a stunning rework. Now when that lovely hook plays, maybe you’ll finally be able to stop conjuring up that image of Rogen in a body suit.
