Bronx emcee YC The Cynic returns today with an eerie new video for “Night Thoughts.”
First released in audio form in 2012, the Yuri Beats-produced cut is a fresh flip of tUnE-yArDs‘s “Wolly Wolly Gang” and well deserving of a second wave of attention. YC lets the mood of the record do the talking, using two short verses to let listeners into his subconscious while director Breeze Embalm utilizes the infamous Donnie Darko mask to bring the same juxtaposition to visual life. The sequence of portraits is minimal and appropriately nightmarish, making for a truly cinematic accompaniment to the track. Watch in full above.
