Fresh off taking the stage at Governors Ball this past weekend, La Roux has released another track off her upcoming Trouble in Paradise album. “Tropical Chancer” is the third song we’ve heard from Paradise after “Uptight Downtown” and “Let Me Down Gently” “Tropical Chancer” is an island-tinged dance track, complete with steel drums and a bouncy guitar riff that takes a page out of Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky.” It’s also replete with the disco influences that the English singer has unearthed and updated for these modern times.
Trouble in Paradise will be released July 7. It’s La Roux’s first studio release in five years, and judging by what we’ve heard so far, it’ll be well worth the wait. Stream “Tropical Chancer” below.
