Ta-ku has taken on a Chet Faker song once before, and managed to breathe new life into the already fantastic “Left Alone,” Faker’s collaboration with Flume. Using Faker’s “Talk is Cheap” as inspiration this time, Ta-ku takes a bit of a different route. Instead of the explosive, gun-cocking aggression as heard in his flip of “Left Alone,” he patiently layers percussive elements that slowly percolates up to the halfway point, which is when the song gently erupts into something even more beautiful.
