There’s a lot to admire in London rock outfit Wolf Alice: their grungy but infectious sound, their creative visuals, and the fact that they’ve garnered this much attention without even releasing an album. This band is awesome, and they’ve delivered yet again, this time with the video to their song “Moaning Lisa Smile,” off their latest EP, Creatures.
The Ozzie Pullin directed video is somewhere in between Wes Anderson and Step Up 2, providing eye-pleasing imagery as the camera follows lead singer Ellie Rowsell on her troubled path to dance team glory. The storyline is a humorous one, complete with drag, a variety of wigs, and ten inch heels. It’s everything you’d expect, and more, from a video and song titled “Moaning Lisa Smile.”
