tUnE-yArDs - "Wait For A Minute"

Hear the latest single from tUnE-yArDs, "Wait For A Minute."

tUnE-yArDs’ Merrill Garbus will release her new album Nikki Nack on May 6, and today we get another taste of what to expect on the upcoming release. “Wait For A Minute” is the second single so far, a noticeably slower, more sultry offering than their previous “Water Fountain.” The track is one of two on the album co-produced by LA producer Malay, who’s worked with John Legend, Alicia Keys and Frank Ocean (producing Channel Orange). Of working with Malay, Merrill says:

“We were nervous to work with Malay, as we’d never had experience with producers before. But he quickly gave us confidence, teaching us to create a full sound while maintaining a very sparse instrumentation. The tiny details give the song depth, so the vocal is allowed to take up a lot of space.”
