Cities Aviv makes hip-hop that’s somewhere between that old school, soul-laced rap and the abrasive, experimental nature of Death Grips. The loops and elements of a soulful hip-hop beat are there, but they’re chopped to pieces and wound up with sense of urgency. His last song “URL IRL” was one of his most accessible yet, and this “Don’t Ever Look Back” track is along the same lines except with a little more throbbing and pounding and less rapping.
