It’s that time of year when holiday-themed music is completely unavoidable, so what’s the harm in hearing another one? Adorning festive Christmas attire, Chvrches recently stopped by BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge and performed a delicate rendition of English boy band’s East 17’s “Stay Another Day.”
A little background on East 17’s original: “Stay Another Day” was #1 for five consecutive weeks, and stayed on top for Christmas of 1994, which prompted the boy band to release a Christmas-themed video that’s brilliantly outrageous and over-the-top. Check out Chvrches’ cover above, which, as good as their take on “Stay Another Day” is, may pale in comparison to the incredibly cheesy original video below.
